Water Damage: Dried Fast, Checked for Mold, Rebuilt Right
Burst pipe, failed water heater, ice dam or sump failure? One Super Crew team handles the drying, the mold checks, the rebuild and the insurance paperwork, so you aren't juggling three companies.
What to Do Right Now
The EPA advises drying water-damaged materials within 24 to 48 hours to help prevent mold growth. Speed matters more than anything else.
- Shut off the water at the main valve, or at the fixture if you can
- Turn off power to wet areas if it's safe to reach the panel; if not, stay out and call us
- Take photos and video of everything before anything is moved or thrown away
- Move furniture, rugs and boxes out of the water
- Call your insurance agent to open a claim, then call us at 952.314.9446
How we restore
- Water extraction and drying equipment set up as soon as we are on site
- Moisture readings in walls, floors and ceilings, documented for your insurer
- Wet drywall, insulation and flooring removed only where needed
- Mold inspection, and remediation where it's found
- Drying checked with meters before anything is closed up
- Drywall, flooring, ceilings, trim and paint rebuilt to match
Help With the Claim, Not Pressure
- We document the damage with photos, moisture readings and a written scope your adjuster can use
- We meet the adjuster on site when you want us there
- Whether a loss is covered depends on your policy. Sudden pipe or appliance leaks are commonly covered; groundwater seepage and flooding often are not. Your insurer makes that call
- We never pay, waive or rebate your deductible. Minnesota law (Minn. Stat. § 325E.66) prohibits it
- Questions about your own coverage? Our sister agency, Intrinsic Insurance, can review your policy with you
Fix the Cause, Not Just the Damage
Once the house is dry and rebuilt, we make sure it doesn't happen again: sump pumps and battery backups, grading and downspouts, ice-dam fixes on the roof, and pipe insulation in cold walls. See how we finish basements dry and how we stop ice dams.
Water Damage FAQ
How fast does water damage turn into mold?
Mold can start growing within 24 to 48 hours on wet materials, which is why the EPA advises drying everything in that window. The sooner drying starts, the less has to be torn out.
Do I have to tear out all the drywall?
Usually not. Moisture readings show exactly how far the water went, so only wet or contaminated material comes out. Clean-water losses caught early often dry in place.
Will my insurance cover it?
It depends on your policy and what caused the water. Sudden leaks from pipes and appliances are commonly covered; flooding and slow seepage often are not. We document everything so your insurer can decide quickly.
Can you do the rebuild too?
Yes. Super Crew is a licensed residential building contractor (#BC770039), so the same team that dries the house rebuilds it: drywall, flooring, cabinets, trim and paint.
Is the work warrantied?
Yes. Super Crew warrants workmanship and materials for one year on home improvements. Your rights under Minnesota law are not limited.
